SA AKING KUMPANYA

went to bed pass two in the morning. Woke up at seven. Helped mama fix their bed.
Checked papa’s morning blood pressure. Na-hospital kasi siya due to heart problem..
but thank God kasi naagapan and he healed my dad.

Kuya gave me a job.. that needs to be done by night..
things that will keep me busy the whole day.
But before I use my day throughout, I want to thank God for everything He has done…
(usual thing a person does everyday) but today is not the…. “just thank you”.
I have all the reasons to praise God for… my personal struggles..
problems my family’s facing… fear in papa’s health… longing to be with friends again…
…all of these had been overcome ONLY because of HIS grace.
Lord, thank you. maraming salamat talaga po.
There are really lots of things to thank God for, right?
And as I’m sitting…. having this “time” alone with Him,
I saw this inspirational devotion by John Fischer.
“In the Company of Sinners“
….dun sa last word… ..Bigla pumasok sa isip ko ‘yung sarili ko. i’m totally a sinner..
but God outstretched his arms. nailed on the cross. shed His blood just to save us..
all we have to do is believe and know that He is GOD.
Last night after Worship Service, we had some sharing pa ng friend ko….
what we learned from the message — The Wonders of “Thank You”.
Sabi niya na he’s very blessed sa mga nangyayari sa kanya.. with his family, school, sa friends…
but minsan nararamdaman niya na wala siyang time sa ibang bagay.
And less time for God. But what’ve touched me here is….
The desire that keeps pushing him to know who exactly God is..
though he knows he is a sinner, he believes in salvation. dun ako natutuwa sa kanya..
kasi I know right timing lang at pamamaraan na lang ni Lord ang kailangan..
And I won’t be tired praying for him.. he’s a friend I don’t want to lose.
and if there’ll be a way na magamit ako sa buhay niya..
I’m willing to give a part of me to help him grow in love with God.
That’s what Jesus wants us to do, diba?
In Purpose Driven Life, MINISTRY has been described as serving the needs of believers;
MISSION has been described as serving the needs of those who are not presently Christians.
We can’t really serve someone if we don’t know him,
but being in a relationship with those who aren’t Christians can be dangerous.
Old habits and old ways of life can come back to haunt us when we are around people
who don’t share our desire to follow Christ. And for this reason,
it may be necessary for some to keep only Christian friends for a season….
BUT THE GOAL FOR US ALL IS TO BE STRONGER THAN THIS.
GOD DIDN’T SAVE US AND LEAVE US ON EARTH TO BAND TOGETHER
AND LIVE NICE, safe little Christian lives UNTIL HE RETURNS or we die, whichever comes first.
WE ARE HERE TO SHARE THE GOOD NEWS of God’s forgiveness
WITH THOSE WHO DON’T KNOW ABOUT IT YET,
and we can’t do that without getting close to people who need it.
We need to be close enough to people to know them, love them and
SERVE THEM WITHOUT judging or LOSING OUR OWN HOLD ON CHRIST.

But how will we ever do this?

Dapat we MUST NOT forget that we are a sinner in need of salvation.
We never have a perfect day (true enough); we encounter our own need to be saved
all the time.. (lagi ko ‘to nararanasan) WE ALL SIN AND FALL SHORT OF GOD’S GLORY.
(amen, amen)
We lead people to Christ NOT by reaching down to them,
BUT AS ONE THIRSTY PERSON BRINGING ANOTHER TO WATER.
We must remember that SIN ENTRAPS EVERYONE.
Friends who aren’t Christians may very well have a soft heart toward
God that the enemy uses to blind with fear, failure, addictions and all sorts of false coping mechanisms.
We need to ask God for the ability to look past all these distractions to the heart,
because at the heart, EVERYONE IS HUNGRY FOR GOD. We were created that way.

Lord, lead us to people that will help us grow in love with you that we may use our closeness to draw near to you.
Help us to see You each day and may we not give in to the things that once entrapped us.
Remind us that we are all your children and we must go back to You.
